Our entire staff is knowledgeable, trustworthy, resourceful, and passionate about preventing and solving wildlife pest concerns for our clients.

We take quality very seriously at Varment Guard. Quality service is not simply managing your nuisance animal issue. It includes everything from your first phone call to our customer service department, the survey of your property, the actual service performed by the technician, and any follow up needed. Furthermore, we maintain detailed service reports and documentation all of which is available to you via your own customer portal.

Varment Guard continually trains its employees to give high quality services to our customers, and develop a spirit of teamwork. We are committed to our customers’ needs and to our employees’ personal success.

Family Owned and Operated

Varment Guard Environmental Services, Inc. was founded in January 1983 by James J. Vaive and Michael A. Moore. Delivering environmentally conscious and humane wildlife control and pest management solutions in Columbus, Ohio and beyond.

On February 1, 2018 – Varment Guard began a new chapter by joining the Plunkett’s Pest Control family, a midwest based company providing world-class service for over 100 years. Plunkett's is a family-owned and operated company led by our third-generation and board chair, Stacy O’Reilly, and president Aly Silva Mulgrew.  Plunkett’s and Varment Guard will now offer professional wildlife and pest control services across a broader service area.

At Varment Guard, we take quality very seriously. Quality wildlife control services are not simply managing your nuisance wildlife pests. They include everything from your first phone call to our client service department to the survey of your property, the actual service performed by the technician, and any follow-up needed. We want to ensure that you are always respected and treated with courtesy. We work to address questions or concerns as quickly as possible.

We train our field associates, sales, and service teams on all the latest methods and best materials.  We also provide our client services with valuable field training. As part of their initial training, they spend time in the field doing ride-alongs, allowing them to see what a typical day is like for our field technicians. We provide them with updates on treatment methods or other significant changes so they will be better equipped to answer your questions or concerns. We also require field technicians to observe what our client service representatives do. We believe that it is important for each Varment Guard associate to appreciate their coworkers' jobs and be well-versed in each other's job duties.

As important as the training is, we feel there is a deeper aspect of quality. Quality comes from people doing their job not because they have to but because they want to. We instill this through our training program and are well known in the industry for developing only the best  field technicians.
